Why We Formed
Global Creativity Network has been prompted by what we see as our defining (but undervalued) quality as humans, and the key to the future of mankind -- creativity! This, "the most crucial of our needs" and the ultimate source of our economic and social vitality, must be universally recognized, deliberately nurtured, and productively engaged.
Other reasons for this global creativity movement are:
- Life-threatening social, economic, and ecological crises that are simply too many and too complex to be left to "experts," or to any small groups of people, however gifted or talented.
- The increasingly obvious fact that most of the crises that are threatening our collective survival and the future of Planet Earth are, fundamentally, a creativity crisis -- unfulfilled human potential and, resultantly, the massive epidemic of meaninglessness ("existential unhappiness") of which most psychological and socal problems are the symptoms, or mere manifestations.
- The massive global awakening of hundreds of millions of people around the world to their inherent (creative) worth as humans and, concomitantly, the increasingly strident clamor for potential-actualizing and humanly fulfilling patterns of existence.
- The deep level transformations that are occurring in practically every facet of our life, that must be creatively shaped into a planetary renaissance.
- The imperative of a civilization that is built on the creative contributions of the world's six and a-half billion people, in order to be viable and sustainable.
